The Texoma Youth Camp property consists of 53 wooded acres, with over 1,000 feet of white sand shoreline. The camp is situated on the Little Mineral arm of Lake Texoma–approximately ten miles north of Pottsboro, TX, on Hwy 120 (also called Preston Bend Road). You can throw a rock and hit Oklahoma (if you have a really good arm).
The camp was originally founded in the late 1940s by Boles Children’s Home, but was under-utilized for most of the 1980s and 1990s.
In recent years we have seen many improvements to all our facilities: air conditioned buildings, renovated cabins, enhanced sports fields as well as the addition of a large swim dock. These amenities have greatly increased the enjoyment and usefulness of the camp–and don’t forget the white sand beach for swimming, sunbathing, sand castle building, late-night campfires, bass fishing and boating. This is absolutely the best beach between Malibu and Atlantic City. Honest!
Close by the camp are numerous amenities: marina with boat launch, boat rentals, groceries, restaurants, bait shop (for you fishermen), public golf course, and the towns of Pottsboro, Fink and Denison. (But why go into town when you have a bait shop nearby?)
